Crowdsourcing bike racks in the OC!

A group of us involved with the Alternative Transportation Committee within the Oak Cliff Chamber of Commerce are promoting the installation of bike racks at businesses in North Oak Cliff. To help pay for the purchase and installation of these racks, we've setup a fundable pledge site here: http://www.fundable.com/groupactions/groupaction.2008-10-06.6452242722

You can pledge as little as $10. We're only trying to raise a total of $1,500 in the beginning, which should get us a total of 5 bike racks. The more racks that we are able to place prominently throughout our community, the greater awareness for bicycle advocacy. Please log on and make a pledge today! No money is actually taken unless we meet our goal, which ends in 25 days. Again, you can pledge as little as $10....these days, that's like a cup of coffee, right? or maybe half a gallon of gas. Also, please, please forward this link to any other bike advocates you know of in our area. If you are one of the wonderful contributors to our goal, we will hold an old school ice cream party in the Bishop Arts District, just like you would have had after jump-roping-for-heart in the sixth grade!
